Tax return

The accountants at the fiduciary firm SuisseFidu complete your tax returns based on the supporting documents you provide. Trust our experts to deliver a professional and accurate service, and free yourself from the complexity of taxation.

Depending on your tax situation, our tax specialists can oversee your tax return to provide tailor-made support.

What supporting documents do you need to complete your tax return?

To successfully complete your tax return, our accountants need the following documents:

  • Salary certificates
  • Health insurance certificates (including non-reimbursed costs, dental care…)
  • Tax certificate for your accounts as at 31 December
  • Tax statements for your investments as at 31 December
  • Tax certificate for your mortgages, where applicable
  • Invoices for home maintenance costs (renovation, repairs)
  • Receipts for childcare costs, where applicable
  • Proof of payment of maintenance (alimony) payments
  • …

Depending on your situation, our accountants may ask you to provide other supporting documents, such as your certificate of contributions to a 3rd pillar pension plan, your professional training certificates or the documents relating to your property taxes if you are a homeowner.

This is why we advise you to keep all documents attesting to your tax situation carefully. If needed, our accountants can forward them to the cantonal tax administration together with your tax return.

Can you request an extension to submit your tax return?

To produce a complete tax return, our accountants can, on request, obtain additional time from the Federal Tax Administration (FTA) if the necessary supporting documents are not provided in good time. However, please note that this option may incur fees, in accordance with cantonal law.

The procedure to follow may vary depending on the canton in which you are taxed. In Geneva, you can request an extension:

  • from the website of your cantonal tax administration
  • by telephone on 022 546 94 00
  • by post, by sending your request to your cantonal tax administration

Please note that your extension request will be rejected if:

  • You have obtained an extension that expired on that day.
  • You have not yet paid your instalments.
  • You have already submitted your return.
  • An ex officio assessment has been issued.

After you have filed your tax return, SuisseFidu’s tax experts and tax lawyers are at your disposal to follow it up with the tax authorities. Take advantage of our expertise to put your mind at ease. We take care of the rest.
